Overview
This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to edit DNS records for your subdomains using cPanel. If you’ve set up a subdomain and need to point it to a specific IP address or another destination, follow these instructions.

- Example: If you’ve created a subdomain like
subdomain.example.com
, these steps will help you manage its DNS settings.
Steps to Edit DNS Records for Subdomains
- Login to cPanel:
- Access your cPanel account through the Ecenica Dashboard. See this guide for help logging into cPanel.
- Navigate to the Zone Editor:
- In the cPanel dashboard, locate and click on the “Zone Editor” option. This tool allows you to manage DNS records for your domain and its subdomains.
- Select Your Main Domain:
- In the Zone Editor, click on your main domain. For example, if your subdomain is
subdomain.example.com
, you would selectexample.com
.
- In the Zone Editor, click on your main domain. For example, if your subdomain is
- Locate Subdomain DNS Records:
- The DNS records for all subdomains associated with your main domain will now be listed.
- Filter by Subdomain (Optional):
- To quickly find the DNS records specific to your subdomain, enter the subdomain (e.g.,
subdomain
) in the “Filter by Name” field.

- Add, Edit, or Delete DNS Records:
- You can now manage your subdomain’s DNS records:
- Add: Click “Add Record” to create a new DNS record.
- Edit: Click “Edit” next to an existing record to make changes.
- Delete: Click “Delete” next to a record you wish to remove.
