This article describes how-to create a full backup of your Ecenica cPanel hosting package.

cPanel Backup Tool creates a new file in your web space containing a full backup of your account, including files in your home directory including any website files and emails, MySQL Databases, and extra settings including domain name settings (DNS) email forwarders and filters.

Backups created using cPanel Backup Tool can be used to fully restore an entire account and is therefore not suitable for partial restores.

Steps for creating a full backup

  1. Login to your Ecenica cPanel.
  2. Click Backup Wizard
  3. Click Backup
  4. Click Full Backup
  5. Click Generate Backup
  6. The full backup will begin. How long it will take to create depends on how much data your account is using. Once the backup is complete you will be sent an email notification.

  1. Login to your Ecenica cPanel.
  2. Click Backup
  3. Click Download a Full Website Backup
  4. Click the backup file link under Backups Available to Download
  5. Save to your computer

How-to download a backup file using FTP

  2. Download the .tar.gz backup file
