How to manually set up an email account on your iPhone

Setup your iPhone to send & receive email from your Ecenica email account using IMAP.

This guide shows you how to manually set up an email account on your Apple iPhone using IMAP.

Before you start

Have the following details ready before you start:

  • Your domain name
  • Your Ecenica Email address
  • Your Email Password

Steps to setup email on your Apple iPhone

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account.
  2. Tap Other.
  3. Tap Add Mail Account.
  4. Enter:
    • Your Name
    • Enter your Ecenica E-mail Address. Example: info@example.com
    • Your E-mail Password
    • A description.
  5. Tap Next.
  6. Choose IMAP for your new account.
  7. Enter your Ecenica Incoming Mail Server settings
    • Host Name – Enter mail.example.com – replacing example.com with your domain name.
    • User Name – Your full E-mail Address.
    • Password – Your E-mail Password
  8. Enter your Ecenica Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) settings.
    • Host Name – Enter mail.example.com – replacing example.com with your domain name.
    • User Name – Your full E-mail Address. For example, info@example.com
    • Password – Your E-mail Password
  9. Tap Next.
  10. Wait for your iPhone to verify the account information.
  11. Tap Save.
  12. Tap the email account you have just created.
  13. Tap Account
  14. Scroll down and tap Advanced
  15. Tap IMAP Path Prefix and enter INBOX (all upper case).
  16. Tap Account at the top left
  17. Tap Done.

Your iPhone is now configured to send and receive email using your Ecenica E-mail address.
