Thanks for buying Ecenica’s Build It For You service. Your site runs on a WordPress theme built to your brief; layout, sections, colours, all set up as you asked.
Your site is hosted on Ecenica’s Managed WordPress service with LiteSpeed, optimised for performance, security, and better SEO.
This guide covers the basics of every Ecenica WordPress website: logging in, editing pages, changing details, and how your site works. Your personalised Build It For You guide provided to you when your site launched, covers every editable field on your theme. We recommend keeping it to hand.
1. Logging In
Go to yourdomain.com/wp-admin and enter the username and password you were given. Bookmark this page — it is your gateway to managing the site.
2. Editing Your Pages
Each section of your site — hero, services, contact form, and so on — has its own set of editable fields in the right-hand sidebar.
To edit a page:
- Go to Pages and click the page you want to edit
- Click anywhere on a section — its editable fields appear in the right sidebar
- Make your changes and click Update
The field labels are descriptive: if a field is called “Heading”, that is the heading. If a field is called “Background Image”, that is the background image. Your personalised guide shows every field for every section on your site.
3. Changing Your Contact Details
Your business contact information (phone, email, address) lives in the WordPress.org: Customizer.
- Go to Appearance → Customize
- Look for the section named after your theme
- Click Company Info to edit your business details
Changes here update everywhere on your site: header, footer, and contact form.
Social Media Links
Under Social & Contact in the same Customizer panel, you can add your Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube URLs. These appear as icons in your site footer.
Footer Text
The Footer section lets you edit the about text and copyright line that appears at the bottom of every page.
Google Analytics
Under Google Analytics, paste your tracking ID (format G-XXXXXXXXXX) to measure site traffic. Enable it and publish.

4. SEO & Search Visibility
Your site is configured for good search engine visibility. Every page has an SEO meta box where you can control how it appears in Google.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| SEO Title | The title shown in Google search results — keep it under 60 characters |
| Meta Description | The summary below your title in Google — keep it under 160 characters |
| Focus Keyword | The main search term you want this page to rank for |
Sitemaps, Robots & AI Crawlers
Your site generates three files that control how search engines and AI systems interact with it:
- Sitemap (
sitemap.xml) — lists all your pages so Google can find them faster. Generated automatically. - Robots (
robots.txt) — tells crawlers which pages they can visit. Configured to allow all search engines by default. - LLMs — AI crawlers from ChatGPT, Claude, and Google Gemini read your content by default. Your site may appear in AI-generated answers.

7. FAQ
Why is my site showing a password screen?
During development, it is normal for your site available behind a password so only you and your team can see it. This is called Demo Mode. Tt restricts public access while we build your site.
Can I add functionality my theme doesn’t have?
Yes — just let us know your requirements and we will provide a competitive quote for new features or pages.
How do I change the colours or fonts on my site?
Your theme uses your brand colours and fonts — these are set as defaults and match your business identity. If you need to change them, contact us and we can adjust the theme styling for you.
Why don’t my changes show up immediately?
Your site may be using a caching layer to load pages faster. Clear your browser cache (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R), or flush the cache from your caching plugin settings. Your changes will appear after that.
Can I reorder the sections on my pages?
The ability to re-order section depends on how we’ve built your theme and your original brief. Some of our themes let you reorder sections in the page editor, others have a fixed layout. Your personalised guide will confirm how yours works.
How do I update my business contact details?
Go to Appearance → Customize → (your theme panel) → Company Info. Changing it there updates your phone number, email, and address everywhere on the site — header, footer, and contact form — in one go.
I added a new page but it doesn’t look like the others — why?
Make sure you have selected the correct template. In the page editor, check Page Attributes in the right sidebar and choose a template that matches your other pages.
If none of the existing templates fit your content, the theme was built to your original specification — creating a new page layout would require design and development work. Contact us for a quote.
