Every part of your online shop can be managed from your WordPress Dashboard. To log in please see How to log in to WordPress Dashboard

Step 2: Creating Products

How to duplicate an existing product

  1. Click Products from the left menu in your WordPress Dashboard
  2. Hover your mouse over an existing product and then click Duplicate
  3. You’ll be immediately redirected to the copy of your product.

Entering your new product details

Products are made up of the following information:

  • Title
  • Permalink (url)
  • Description
  • Product Data (Price, Inventory, Shipping, Linked Products, Attributes, etc)
  • Product Short Description
  • Product Image
  • Product Tags
  • Product Category

What are permalinks?

Permalinks

Permalinks (permanent link) is the direct link to a product or page on your website.

This is an example:

https://www.example.com/shop/mens-watches/gold-and-black-watch/

Clicking the link above will take you directly to your product.

The permalinks are very important as these are the scanned and indexed by search engines, and are what you can include on paid adverts, email newsletters, etc.

Permalinks are automatically created by WordPress from the title of your product. If you want to change them you can do so by clicking the edit button next to the link and then adding or deleting words.

Every permalink is unique. You can’t have two links which are the same.

Don’t worry about the hyphens (-) in the link. Search engines like Google treat these like spaces

How do I change the products in the ‘We recommend’ product section

You can choose which products are in the ‘We Recommend’ section by clicking the star on the products page.

Products with a blue star will show in the recommended section. And products which are not starred will not. You can show 4 recommended products on your home page.
