If you’re moving your website to Ecenica Hosting and your current site is running on cPanel, you’re in luck—both of your websites are covered by our Free Website Migration Service. To ensure a smooth transition, we’ll need some information and access details from you. This guide walks you through everything you need to know to get started.

What We Need to Migrate Your Website

To successfully migrate your website to Ecenica, we’ll need details related to your domains, website data, and email accounts (if applicable). Below, we outline the requirements and options for each.

1. Domains

To point your domain to your new Ecenica Hosting account, we’ll need to update its settings. You have a few options:

• Transfer the Domain to Ecenica: If you’d like us to handle everything, you can transfer your domain to us. We’ll make all the necessary changes for you.
• Update Name Servers: If you prefer to manage the domain yourself, you can update it to use Ecenica’s name servers. Once updated, your domain will connect to our systems.
• Update DNS Records: Alternatively, you can modify the DNS records (e.g., point the www record) to direct traffic to Ecenica Hosting.

What If You Don’t Have Access to Your Domain?

• Registered Owner: If you’re the domain owner but don’t have access to the settings, contact your domain registrar to regain control. Once you have access, we can proceed with the updates above.
• Third-Party Ownership: If someone else (e.g., a web designer) registered the domain for you, you’ll need to ask them to either transfer the domain to Ecenica or provide you with access to update it.

2. Website Files

To migrate your website, we’ll need access to your current hosting environment. Here’s how we can do it:

Option 1: Hosting Control Panel (cPanel)

Since your websites are running on cPanel, this is the easiest method. Please provide:

• Control Panel URL
• Username
• Password

With these details, we’ll transfer all your website files, databases, and settings to Ecenica Hosting for you.

Option 2: No Control Panel? Use FTP or SSH

If you don’t have cPanel access, we may still be able to migrate your site using FTP or SSH. Please provide:

• FTP or SSH Username
• Password

Option 3: WordPress Sites Without Panel/FTP/SSH Access

If your site runs on WordPress and you don’t have control panel or FTP/SSH access, we might be able to migrate it using your WordPress admin credentials. Simply provide:

• WordPress Login URL
• Admin Username
• Password

Note: The WordPress user must have an Administrator role (this is the default for admin accounts).

What Happens During Migration?

Once we have access, we’ll:

• Transfer all website files and databases.
• Generate new SSL certificates for your site.
• Provide recommendations to enhance your website for Ecenica’s speed and security features.

3. Emails (Optional)

If your current cPanel account hosts email and your new Ecenica Hosting plan supports email services, we can migrate your email accounts as part of our Free Website Migration Service.

Key Considerations for Email Migration

• Space Requirements: Email can take up significant storage. Ensure your Ecenica plan has enough shared space and mailbox quotas to accommodate your needs. Don’t worry—if you need more space, we can adjust your plan after signup. Contact us if you’re unsure!
• cPanel-to-cPanel Migration: When moving emails between cPanel environments, your email settings (usernames, passwords, etc.) will remain unchanged.
• Non-cPanel Email Migration: If your current provider doesn’t use cPanel, we can still migrate your emails, but this is a manual process with an additional charge. Let us know how many email accounts you’d like to move, and we’ll provide a free quote.
