This support article provides step-by-step instructions to connect your Microsoft 365 managed domain name to Ecenica Managed WordPress Hosting and Website Builder services.
Note, you’ll need admin access to the Microsoft 365 admin center, and you’ll need the IP address of your Ecenica service.
Steps to Update DNS A Records
Step 1: Access your domain DNS settings
- Sign in to admin.microsoft.com
- In the left menu, select Show all > Settings > Domains.
- Find and select your domain (example.com) from the list.
- Click DNS Records.
- Under DNS settings, select Custom Records (or Manage DNS if prompted).
Step 2: Add your Ecenica DNS settings
- Click + New custom record (or edit if an A record exists).
- Configure the record with the following details:
- Type: Select A
- Host name: Leave blank or enter @ (represents example.com).
- IP Address: Enter the IP of your Ecenica service.
- TTL: Set to 1 hour (or 3600 seconds).
- Click Save.
- Click + New custom record
- Configure the record with the following details:
- Type: Select A
- Host name: www.
- IP Address: Enter the IP of your Ecenica service.
- TTL: Set to 1 hour (or 3600 seconds).
- Click Save.
- Click + New custom record
- Configure the record with the following details:
- Type: Select A
- Host name: *.
- IP Address: Enter the IP of your Ecenica service.
- TTL: Set to 1 hour (or 3600 seconds).
- Click Save.
Step 3: Verify and Wait for Propagation
After saving, your DNS records should appear as below.

Please DNS changes typically take 15 minutes but can take up to 24 hours to fully propagate across the internet. During this time you may see an old page or errors when checking your domain in your web browser. This will clear automatically if you’ve set the correct records.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues or need assistance updating your DNS. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Help & Support (bottom right). Type your question or issue (e.g., “trouble updating DNS A records”). Review the suggested articles. If unresolved, select the headset icon to contact technical support.
