Using the steps in this article we’ll show you how you can connect your Ecenica domain to your Big Cartel site.

1. Set up your CNAME DNS to connect your domain to Big Cartel
2. Set Big Cartel to use your custom domain
3. Set up a redirect to www
Please note to successfully connect your domain to Big Cartel please make sure you complete all three steps in the correct order shown above.
1. Set up your CNAME DNS to connect your domain to Big Cartel using Ecenica DNS
- Log in to Ecenica Dashboard.
- Go to My Domains.
- Click a domain you wish to manage.
- From the menu, click DNS.
- Enter www in the name field.
- Select CNAME from the Type drop-down list.
- Enter your Big Cartel website into the Value field. For example, mybigcartelstore.bigcartel.com
- Click Add.
2. Set Big Cartel to use your custom domain
- Log in to your Big Cartel account
- Click Account > Edit your shop info > Add a custom domain and click Add domain in your Big Cartel admin.
- Enter your full custom URL, for example www.example.com into the custom domain field
- Click Save
3. Set up a redirect to www
- Log in to your Ecenica Dashboard
- Click Domains > Click your domain you wish to connect to Big Cartel
- Click Domain Tools > Web Forwarding
- Leave the Permanent (301) setting
- Select your domain from the https?://(www.)? dropdown list.
- Enter http://www.example.com – Replacing example.com with your domain in the Redirects to field
- Select Do Not Redirect www.
- Click Add
That’s it. You’ve completed all the steps to connect your Ecenica domain to Big Cartel.
Please note it may take 48 hours for the changes you’ve made to fully propagate. During this time you may not see your Big Cartel site load. If you wait it will work.
