Password-protecting your WordPress site can be essential for securing sensitive data, limiting access to specific users, or protecting a website under development. With Ecenica WP Toolkit you can easily password-protect your WordPress website with just a few steps. This feature prevents anyone from accessing your website unless they enter a username and password.

Steps to Password Protect Your WordPress site in WP Toolkit
- Log in to your Ecenica Dashboard
- Click Manage next your Ecenica hosting service.
- Click WordPress Manager .
- Click the site name or the downward arrow to expand the management options for the site you wish to password protect.
- In the expanded options, look for the Password Protection toggle.
- Enable Password Protection: Toggle the switch to enable password protection for your site.
- A pop-up will appear asking you to create a username and password. Enter a username and password that you will share with those who need access.
- Click Protect to enable the password protection on your site.
Verify Password Protection
- After setting up the protection, try accessing your website from an incognito/private browsing window or a different browser.
- You should now see a login prompt asking for the username and password you just created.
- Enter the login credentials to ensure that the password protection is working as expected.
Steps to Disable Password Protection
If you need to remove the password protection at any point:
- Log in to your Ecenica Dashboard
- Click Manage next your Ecenica hosting service.
- Click WordPress Manager .
- Locate the site where the password protection is enabled.
- Toggle off the password protection.
Your website will now be publicly accessible again.
