How to Remove WordPress Version Number from Your WordPress Admin Area

WordPress displays your current WordPress version number in the bottom-right footer of your WordPress Admin pages. This is so you can quickly see which version you’re running and to encourage you to keep your WordPress install running the very latest version.

To remove the WordPress version number from your WordPress admin pages, copy and paste the below code into your WordPress theme’s functions.php file.

/**
 * Remove WP version number from bottom-right of WP admin area (all user roles)
 *
 * Action admin_menu
 *
 * @since 1.0
 *
 */
add_action( 'admin_menu', 'my_remove_version_number_admin' );
if (!function_exists('my_remove_version_number_admin')) {
	function my_remove_version_number_admin() {
		remove_filter( 'update_footer', 'core_update_footer' );
	} // End my_remove_version_number_admin()
}
