Where is the PHP error log for my website?

PHP errors and warnings generated by your websites are logged in error_log files in the directory where your PHP files are located.

You can view or download your PHP error log using the steps below.

If you cannot find an error_log file it means your account has not encountered a PHP error yet, or you have previously disabled PHP error logging.

View or Download your PHP error_log using cPanel File Manager

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Click File Manager.
  3. Open the directory where your PHP files are located.
  4. Select your error_log file and click View or Download.

Download your PHP error_log using FTP

  1. Connect to your account using your FTP app.
  2. Open the directory where your PHP files are located.
  3. Download or open your error_log file.
