How to Check the ‘Sent’ Folder Settings on iPhone

This guide will walk you through the steps to check and manage the settings for your ‘Sent’ folder in the Mail app on your iPhone. These settings determine where your sent emails are stored and how they are handled.

Steps to Check ‘Sent’ Folder Settings

  1. Open the Settings on your iPhone.
Locate the Settings app on your iPhone’s home screen (it looks like a gear icon) and tap to open it.
  2. In Settings, search for ‘Mail’ and tap the Mail app to open it’s settings.
  3. Tap Mail Accounts.
  4. Tap on your Ecenica email account you want to check. If you have multiple mailboxes setup, you’ll need to repeat these steps for each one.
  5. Tap Account Settings.
  6. Tap Advanced. This section contains specific mailbox behaviors and settings.
  7. Under the Mailbox Behaviors section, find and tap Sent Mailbox. This shows where your sent emails are stored.
  8. Check the Sent Folder Location:
You’ll see two sections: On My iPhone (local storage) and On the Server (your Ecenica server hosting your mailbox).

A checkmark indicates where sent emails are currently saved. For example, if it’s set to ‘Sent’ under ‘On the Server’ your emails are stored in the server’s Sent folder.

  9. Adjust Settings (If required)
Please tap Sent under On the Server to save emails sent from your phone on to our server and have these emails sync across Webmail and all your other email apps and devices connecting to your Ecenica email.
  10. Tap Advanced at the top left to go back, tap Back and tap Done to save changes.
  11. Verify in the Mail App
Open the Mail app, tap Mailboxes (top left), and scroll to Sent. Check that the sent emails appear as expected based on the settings you’ve checked and optionally changed.

Additional Tips

Syncing Issues: If sent emails aren’t showing up, ensure your iPhone is connected to the internet and the account is syncing properly (Settings > Mail > Accounts > Fetch New Data).
