How do I redirect https to http without any SSL Certificate?

HTTPS relies on the SSL certificate being present and the SSL negotiation triggering before any data being sent to the server. Therefore a redirect from a https URL with no valid SSL certificate present, to a non-SSL http URL is impossible.

How To Force Dedicated SSL Using .htaccess

To force all web traffic to use the HTTPS version of your URL, enter the following lines of code in the .htaccess file in your root folder. # ———————————————————————- # | Forcing `https://` | # ———————————————————————- # Redirect from the `http://` to the `https://` version of the URL. # https://wiki.apache.org/httpd/RewriteHTTPToHTTPS <ifmodule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L] </ifmodule> Source: html5-boilerplate .htaccess
