Troubleshoot Entourage Error 17897

Symptom

When you try to send and receive email using Microsoft Entourage 2008 or Microsoft Entourage 2004 the error message 17897 appears and you are unable to receive your email.

Resolution

  1. Click the Tools menu and select Accounts
  2. Double click your Ecenica email account.
  3. Select Click here for advanced receiving options
  4. Untick Always use secure password
  5. Click OK
  6. Click Send/Receive
