Optimising your MySQL database tables helps keep your website running smoothly.

Optimising your databases is easy when using the phpMyAdmin tool in your cPanel control panel.

We recommend optimising your MySQL databases every few months, or after a major update. For example, upgrading WordPress.

Steps to optimise your database tables using phpMyAdmin

  1. Log in to cPanel
  2. Click PhpMyAdmin
  3. Select the database you wish to optimise
  4. Check the tables you wish to optimise, or click Check all to select all tables
  5. Click the With selected: drop-down list and select Optimize table

Your MySQL database tables will now be optimised and a message Your SQL query has been executed successfully will be shown at the top of the page once the action has been completed.
