iPhone or iPad Cannot Send Emails – Receiving is Fine

This article describes how to fix sending issues on your iPhone or iPad when you can receive email OK.

You’ll need:

• Your email address
• Your email address password
• Your iPhone or iPad

Steps to check and fix sending email on your iPhone or iPad

Steps for iOS 26

1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap Apps > Mail.
3. Tap Mail Accounts.
4. Tap your Ecenica email account.
5. Tap Account Settings
6. Tap SMTP under ‘Outgoing Mail Server’.
7. Tap Primary Server
8. Check the Outgoing Mail Server details are set as follows:
   • Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com – Replacing yourdomain.com with your Ecenica domain name.
   • Username: Your email address. For example, info@example.com
   • Use SSL: On
   • Authentication: Password
   • Server Port: 587
9. Tap Done at the top right.
10. Tap Back at the top left.
11. Tap Done at the top right.

Close, quit and re-open the Mail app on your iPhone to make it pick up your new sending settings and then try to send an email from your Ecenica mailbox.

Steps for iOS 17 and older

These steps are for the older version of iPhone and iPad iOS 17, released in 2023.

1. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts
2. Tap your Ecenica email account.
3. Tap Account.
4. Tap SMTP under Outgoing Mail Server
5. Tap the Primary Server.
6. Check the information for Outgoing Mail Server is set as follows:
   • Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com
   • Username: Your email address. For example, info@example.com
   • Password: Your mailbox password
   • Use SSL: On
   • Authentication: Password
   • Server Port: 587
7. Tap Done at the top right.
8. Tap Account at the top left.
9. Tap Done at the top right to save your changes
