How-to fix Unknown Name Space in Entourage

Summary

When syncing your email account using IMAP and Entourage 2008 you may receive the following error:

‘unknown name space’

Also, your folders do not display properly, you may have problems saving emails to your drafts, deleted items and sent folders.

Cause

Entourage has an incorrect IMAP Root Folder

Resolution

Configure Entourage l to use the correct IMAP Root Folder for your IMAP server.

How to set IMAP Root Folder prefix in Entourage 2008

1. Open Entourage
2. Click Tools, Accounts.
3. Double click your Ecenica email account.
4. Click the Options tab.
5. Set the Root folder to INBOX (all uppercase). Click Ok and close the accounts window.
