Summary

If you are having difficulties connecting to your Ecenica email from your PC, Mac, iPhone or iPad then it could be due to a problem with the incoming mail server or outgoing mail server settings in your email app. Please use the steps below to help you check your email settings.

Note: When using a Ecenica email account your incoming/outgoing mail server is mail.yourdomain.com, replacing yourdomain.com with your actual account domain.

Checking your email server settings

Apple Mail

  1. Select the Mail menu and click Preferences
  2. Click the Accounts tab.
  3. Select your Ecenica email account on the left.
  4. Check that the Incoming Mail Server is set to mail.yourdomain.com.
  5. Click the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) list and click Edit SMTP Server List
  6. Select your Ecenica SMTP server.
  7. Check that the Server Name is set to mail.yourdomain.com.
  8. Click OK.

Apple iPhone and iPad

  1. Tap Settings
  2. Scroll down and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  3. Tap your Ecenica email account.
  4. Tap Account.
  5. Under Incoming Mail Server, check the Host Name is mail.yourdomain.com.
  6. Check the Username is your Ecenica email.
  7. Check your password is your Ecenica email password.
  8. Scroll down and tap SMTP under Outgoing Mail Server.
  9. Tap Primary Server
  10. Under Outgoing Mail Server, check the Host Name is mail.yourdomain.com.
  11. Check the Username is your Ecenica email.
  12. Check your password is your Ecenica email password.
  13. Set the Server Port to 26
  14. Tap Done at the top Right.
  15. Tap Account at the top Left.
  16. Tap Done at the top Right.
  17. Press the Home button to exit.

Outlook 2007/2010/2013

  1. Select the Tools menu and click Account Settings….
  2. Select your Ecenica email account and click Change.
  3. Check the following:
    • Incoming mail server is set to mail.yourdomain.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP) is set to mail.yourdomain.com.
  4. Click Next, then Finish and then Close.

Outlook 2003

  1. Select the Tools menu and click E-mail Accounts.
  2. Select View or change existing e-mail accounts then click Next
  3. Select your Ecenica email account and click Change.
  4. Check the following:
    • Incoming mail server (POP3) is set to mail.yourdomain.com
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP) is set to mail.yourdomain.com
  5. Click Next and then Finish.

Outlook Express / Windows Mail / Windows Live Mail

  1. Select the Tools menu and click Accounts.
  2. Select your Ecenica email account and click Properties.
  3. Click the Servers tab.
  4. Check the following:
    • Incoming mail (POP3) is set to mail.yourdomain.com
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP) is set to mail.yourdomain.com
  5. Click OK to save then Close.

Microsoft Entourage

  1. Select the Tools menu then click Accounts
  2. Double click your Ecenica email account.
  3. Check the following:
    • Receiving mail server is set to mail.yourdomain.com
    • SMTP server is set to mail.yourdomain.com
  4. Click OK to save.
