Before you start checklist

Have the following details ready before you start:

  • Your domain name
  • Your email address
  • Your email password

Configure IMAP in Apple Mail

  1. Click Mail > Preferences
  2. Click Accounts
  3. Click the plus sign + at the bottom left.
  4. Select Add Other Mail Account… and click Continue
  5. Enter your name, full email address including domain, e.g. john@yourdomain.com and your mailbox password. Click Next
  6. Apple Mail will warn you’ll need to set up your account manually. Click Next.
  7. Select IMAP and enter the following details:
    Mail server:
    Use your Ecenica package’s hostname. For example, server1.ecenica.com
    User Name:
    Enter your Ecenica email address. For example, john@yourdomain.com.
    Password:
    Enter your Ecenica email account password.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Enter the following details for your Outgoing Mail Server Info
    SMTP server:
    Use your Ecenica package’s hostname. For example, server1.ecenica.com
    User Name:
    Enter your Ecenica email address. For example, john@yourdomain.com.
    Password:
    Enter your Ecenica email account password.
  10. Click Create
  11. Back on the Account screen, click the Advanced tab
  12. Change the following:
    IMAP Path Prefix:
    INBOX
  13. Your account is now setup. Close the Accounts screen and click Save.
  14. Click Get Mail.
