Before you start checklist

Have the following details ready before you start:

  • Your domain name
  • Your email address
  • Your email password

Setup a IMAP email account in Apple Mail on Mac

  1. Click Mail > Preferences
  2. Click Accounts
  3. Click the plus sign + at the bottom left of the window
  4. Select Other Mail Account… and click Continue
  5. Enter:
    • Your Name
    • Enter your Ecenica E-mail address. Example: info@example.com
    • Your E-mail Password
  6. Click Sign In
  7. Apple Mail will show a warning Unable to verify account name or password. To resolve this enter the following details:
    • User Name – Your full E-mail Address. Example: info@example.com
    • Account Type – IMAP
    • Incoming Mail Server – Enter mail.example.com – replacing example.com with your domain name OR use your Ecenica package’s hostname. For example, server1.ecenica.com
    • Outgoing Mail Server – Enter mail.example.com – replacing example.com with your domain name OR use your Ecenica package’s hostname. For example, server1.ecenica.com
  8. Click Sign In
  9. Uncheck Notes from the apps you want to use with this account
  10. Click Done

Your email account is now setup in Apple Mail on Mac. Close the Accounts screen and click Get Mail.
