This tutorial shows you how to easily change your PHP version on our dedicated Cloud Servers (VPS) with cPanel.

You can choose which version of PHP you want to run on each of your cPanel accounts hosted on your Ecenica server. This is useful if the PHP app you are running on your website requires an older version of PHP, or simply if you wish to develop using the latest PHP builds.

You choose exactly which PHP version you want to run in just a few clicks via your WebHost Manager (WHM) control panel.

Change PHP version on Cloud Server with CloudLinux

  1. Log in to your WebHost Manager (WHM).
  2. Click List Accounts and log into the account you want to change the PHP version for.
  3. Click Select PHP Version.
  4. Select your PHP version, and click Set as current.
  5. The cPanel account will immediately start using the version of PHP and modules you have selected.

Change PHP version on Cloud Server without CloudLinux (formerly Managed VPS)

  1. Log in to your WebHost Manager (WHM)
  2. Click List Accounts and log into the account you want to change the PHP version for.
  3. Click MultiPHP Manager.
  4. Select the domain you wish to change the PHP version for.
  5. Select the PHP version you wish to use from the PHP Version drop-down list.
  6. Click Apply

Q: Can I run multiple versions of PHP on CloudLinux?

A: The PHP selector will change the PHP version for all your domains under your cPanel account. If you’d like to run multiple versions then you can buy another web hosting package for the domain or sub-domain.

Q: Can I choose PHP modules on Cloud Server without CloudLinux?
A: Choosing PHP modules is a feature provided by CloudLinux and requires the optional add-on to your Ecenica Cloud Server.
