This article explains how to add or change MX records for your Ecenica domain name and point your domain at a email service.

Add a MX Record

  1. Log into your Ecenica Dashboard
  2. Click Domains.
  3. Click the domain you want to edit.
  4. From the menu, Click Domain Tools > MX Records
  5. You will now be automatically logged in your domain’s DNS hosting package.
  6. In Add a New Record enter:
    • Priority – The priority of the MX record. e.g. 5 or 10
    • Destination – The MX record value. e.g ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM or mail.example.com
  7. Click Add New Record

Edit a MX Record

  1. Log into your Ecenica Dashboard
  2. Click Domains.
  3. Click the domain you want to edit.
  4. From the menu, Click Domain Tools > MX Records
  5. You will now be automatically logged in your domain’s DNS hosting package.
  6. Scroll down to MX Records
  7. Click Edit next to the MX record you want to change.
  8. Edit:
    • Priority – Change the priority of the MX record.
    • Destination – Change the MX record value.
  9. Click Edit to save your changes.

Delete a MX Record

  1. Log into your Ecenica Dashboard
  2. Click Domains.
  3. Click the domain you want to edit.
  4. From the menu, Click Domain Tools > MX Records
  5. You will now be automatically logged in your domain’s DNS hosting package.
  6. Scroll down to MX Records
  7. Click Delete next to the MX record you wish to remove.
  8. Click Delete to confirm.

How long does it take for my MX Record change to appear?

Your domain name will be instantly updated with your new MX record. However if you can’t see the change on your PC or Mac then it’s likely your ISP has a cache of your old MX records. Please allow 48 hours for these DNS caches to clear.
