Enable System and Exception Logs in Magento

Enable logging in Magento Ecommerce to debug errors.

Discover how-to enable logging in Magento to help you debug errors or issues you may experience with your Magento e-commerce website.

  1. Login to your Magento Admin backend
  2. Click System > Configuration
  3. Click Developer
  4. Expand the Log Settings section
  5. Set Enabled to Yes
  6. Click Save Config

Magento will now log errors to the exception.log and system.log files, found in the /var/log directory of your Magento website.
