This article shows you how to setup and use your Ecenica Roaming SMTP account in Microsoft Outlook, Windows Mail and Mozilla Thunderbird.

Outlook 2007

  1. Click the ‘Tools’ menu and select ‘Account Settings…’
  2. Select your email account from the list and click ‘Change…’.
  3. Change ‘Outgoing mail server (SMTP)’ to your Ecenica Roaming SMTP server.
  4. Click ‘More Settings…’.
  5. Select the ‘Outgoing Server’ tab.
  6. Tick ‘My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication’
  7. Select ‘Log on using’
  8. Enter your Ecenica Roaming SMTP username and password
  9. Tick the ‘Remember password’ option.
  10. Click the ‘Advanced’ tab.
  11. Enter 465 for Outgoing server (SMTP) port.
  12. Under ‘Use the following type of encrypted connection’ select ‘Auto’
  13. Click ‘Ok’.
  14. Click ‘Next’ then the ‘Finish’.
  15. Restart Outlook 2007

Windows Mail

  1. Click Tools > Accounts.
  2. Select your email account from the list and click ‘Change…’
  3. Select the ‘Servers’ tab and change ‘Outgoing mail server (SMTP)’ to your Ecenica Roaming SMTP server.
  4. Click ‘Settings…’.
  5. Select the ‘Logon Using’.
  6. Enter your Ecenica Roaming SMTP username and password
  7. Tick the ‘Remember password’ option
  8. Select the ‘Advanced’ tab
  9. Enter 465 for Outgoing server (SMTP) port.
  10. Tick ‘This server requires a secure connection (SSL)’
  11. Click ‘Ok’ and ‘Close’
  12. Restart Windows Mail

Thunderbird

  1. Open Thunderbird.
  2. From the main menu, click Tools > Account Settings.
  3. Click Outgoing Server (SMTP) from the options on the left.
  4. Select your account and click Edit.
  5. Enter Ecenica SMTP as a Description
  6. Enter your Ecenica Roaming SMTP server name
  7. Enter 465 for Port
  8. Click ‘Use name and password’
  9. Enter your User Name
  10. Select ‘SSL’
  11. Click OK and OK again to close Account Settings
  12. Restart Thunderbird
